I believe Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth are more or less similar. Although they have different themes, each is a tragedy. The characters' weaknesses ultimately lead to their downfall
I think we see this same theme in another shakespeare tragedy, Hamlet. Just like in Macbeth, Shakspeare uses ambitious characters unchecked by moral constraints to create a tragic story ending in death and despair.
love, power, betrayal, its the basis for so many classic novels. the classic, what could you throw to the wayside to achieve ur dreams, no matter how dehumanizing it is. its prevalent is so many books. b/c im reading the tithe books at this very moment they are fresh in my head and they do have all those qualities.
I think death is a theme in Macbeth, so it's kind of dark so far. In Antigone there was death also, which also made it into a tradgic piece of literature as well, as we discussed in our groups in class. I think death is a somewhat common theme in all three. Although it may not be a huge major theme it is definately one that we see a lot. People are always dying in tv shows, movies, and books; sometimes it just makes the plot more juicy and interesting to follow.

Hamelt, the main character of the play, experiences death first had because of the death of his father. During the play Hamelt sees the ghost of his father. Which eventually drives him mad. Also in Bless Me Ultima death is a major theme becasue Antonio is changed by witnessing many deaths himself, the most important being the death of Ultima.

I can't think of a specific literature example that has the same theme as Macbeth, but I have seen it on many movies and shows.
I think one of the main lessons of Macbeth is to not become too power hungry, or it will overtake you, and you will be unable to get out.
